A descriptive course about the solar system, stars and stellar evolution, galaxies, and the universe. Recent findings of space exploration and radio astronomy are included. With a unique integration of science and Scripture, you will explore how modern discoveries affirm the beauty, order, and complexity of God's creation.
Christian Journey into Psychology
Embark on a journey into the captivating world of the human mind as expressed through affect, cognition, behavior, and relationships. This unique exploration delves deep into the foundational elements of psychology while intertwining the rich teachings and principles of Christianity. It incorporates cutting-edge research from the realm of neuroscience as it applies to transformational change. You will reflect on how a Christian worldview and Scripture impact your understanding of human behavior, mental processes, and overall well-being.
Finding Life's Direction
In this course, you will pursue a journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and spiritual development. You will learn the benefits of trusting God, embracing failure, and cultivating patience while developing a deeper sense of your purpose and direction in life. You will set realistic goals, embrace who you are as a member of God’s kingdom, and overcome roadblocks on your path forward.
Intro To Philosophy
This course is a critical analysis of the elements of a worldview with special emphasis on a Christian worldview. The course proceeds through the great questions, including worldview questions about God, humanity, ethics, social and political philosophy, truth, reality, art, and history.
Introduction to Theology
This course provides a systematic overview of the major themes of Christian theology, including ethics. You will explore topics like the nature of God, human nature and sin, Christ and salvation, the Holy Spirit and the Church, the sacraments, Christian ethics, and eschatology.
Latin 1
Latin I offers an immersive introduction to the classical Latin language, as well as Roman history and culture. You’ll learn Latin by reading Lingua Latina per se illustrata by Hans Ørberg, which follows a fictional Roman family living around 200 AD. As you journey with them, you’ll explore Roman roads and villas, witness daily family life, hear stories of legendary heroes and military campaigns, and discover how Romans measured time — their days, months, seasons, and years.
Personal Cybersecurity
The course will be a broad overview of computer security topics including security threats, personal computer security, operating system security, web security, physical security, access control, intrusion detection, anti-virus & anti-spyware systems, cryptography, steganography, security models & practice, business continuity & disaster recovery, and risk management. A brief introduction to secure software development is included. The course will not include a significant coding component.
Sociology
The scientific study of society, institutions, and group interaction, with focus on the sociological imagination and core theories. Topics include the sociological perspective, the individual in society, stratification and social inequality, social institutions, human ecology, and social change, with special attention to issues of diversity.
Statistics
This course introduces students to both descriptive and inferential statistics through a streamlined, 8-module structure suitable for dual-enrolled high school students and college students alike. Topics include measures of central tendency and variability, the normal distribution, sampling and estimation, hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, and ANOVA. Students will practice statistical thinking, data interpretation, and software-based analysis using Excel and JAMOVI
Writing To Convince
This course continues the journey into the art of persuasive writing, focusing on the rhetoric, logic, and evidence needed to craft compelling arguments. Drawing inspiration from works of classical rhetoric, you will hone your skills in writing persuasive and expository prose. By the end of the course, you will be equipped with the skills to communicate your ideas effectively and convince others through the written word.
